Who is The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser best for?
Ideal for skin types that are more difficult to find the right cleanser for, including for those prone to redness, dehydration, and even oily skin types that would benefit from oil cleansing, but do not enjoy the texture.
Is squalane and squalene the same thing?
The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser, as the name suggests, features squalane, not squalene. Squalene is the precursor to squalane - both are produced by the body, but squalane is the smaller molecule of the two. Squalene gets turned into squalane by the body, and is derived from olive oil.
Squalane is similar to what our body produces naturally, and so helps to balance the skin and protect the skin barrier. It doesn’t irritate the skin, and also has a softening, anti-ageing effect by enhancing the skin’s elasticity.

- Keep the area dry.
- After 24 hours rinse the area.
- If any redness, burning, itching, blistering or irritation is observed at any time throughout the test, do not use the product.
